Cartago, the Villa de Robledo
Cartago: This municipality is located in the north of the department of Valle del Cauca, on the banks of the Río La Vieja, with the Cauca River running along its western side. It is famously known throughout the country as the Villa de Robledo and also as the “sunniest and most joyful city” in Colombia. Its main economy is agriculture, livestock farming, commerce, and a small embroidery industry. It is known for its architecture, and its religious temples and swimming spots make it attractive to tourists.
