Roldanillo, the Land of the Soul

Roldanillo: This municipality is also known as la Villa de Cáceres, named by its founder Francisco Redondo Ponce de León. Due to the fierce resistance put up by the indigenous population, the settlement was relocated in 1602 to the lands of the Estancia de Roldanillo. This municipality is located approximately 149 kilometers from Santiago de Cali, in the north-central part of the Department of Valle del Cauca. Its best-known economic sources are sugarcane, livestock, agriculture, mining, and crafts, with agriculture contributing 65% of the economy, where papaya, corn, coffee, passion fruit, and vegetables are also grown.
