Pradera, Capital of Sweets
Pradera, is a small municipality, but one characterized by its geographic contrasts and large prairies planted with sugarcane. Pradera is one of the 42 municipalities of Valle del Cauca, and its main economy is agriculture and livestock farming. Given the characteristics of its soil, sugarcane is the crop grown above all, home to the Central Castilla sugar mill and the El Vergel and Santa Helena trapiches (traditional sugar mills). It also has abundant water resources, with three major rivers: Bolo Blanco, Bolo Azul, and Bolo.

This fair is known for its trade in the variety of sweets from Valle del Cauca, along with music and orchestra performances, beauty pageants, tourist activities, dog shows, exhibitions, and children's activities, held over four consecutive days in the month of October. Festival de Música Andina (Andean Music Festival): as its name suggests, this festival showcases Andean music, with different artists and orchestras representing the culture of the department of Valle del Cauca, held in the month of March.
