Yotoco, King of the Winds

Yotoco: This municipality is divided into two distinct zones: one that is entirely flat, belonging to the Cauca River valley, and the other mountainous. Its land spans different thermal floors — warm, mild, and cold — and its main economic activities are agriculture, livestock farming, and mining, with soybean, coffee, potato, corn, and sugarcane among the crops grown, alongside the extraction of coal, gold, limestone, quartz, iron, clay, and silver. This municipality is connected by road to Buga, Riofrío, Vijes, Calima Darién, and Restrepo, and the stretch of the Cauca River that runs through Yotoco is navigable.
