Andalucía, is a municipality of Valle del Cauca located in the central part of the department. Its territory is mostly flat, although the eastern side has mountainous terrain reaching up to 1,800 m above sea level. It is known as the gelatin capital, since it offers visitors and residents the chance to enjoy white and black gelatin, found at the Parador Turístico de la Gelatina, located on both sides of the double-lane Panamerican Highway.
Its economy is based on the production of typical food products, along with livestock farming and agriculture. Its main crops are lemon, corn, sugar cane, and plantain. Gelatin production has become a source of income, increasing employment and improving the population’s standard of living.
