El Cairo: The Little Balcony of the Mountain Range
El Cairo: This municipality sits on the bank of the Las Vueltas River in the department of Valle del Cauca. It is known for its harvests of coffee, plantain, sugar cane, cassava, and beans, among others, and shares part of the Antioquia region’s culture and landscapes, bordering Chocó. It is a heritage municipality for its traditional architecture, rich in biodiversity, and known for bird conservation in Galápago. Most of its terrain is mountainous, corresponding to the Western Cordillera (Cordillera Occidental).

MAR
Festival de Cultura por la Paz (Culture for Peace Festival)
This festival is held on the first public holiday of every March, featuring traditional dances, rural poetry, children's talent shows, a float and silletero parade, and artistic galas.
Día del Campesino (Farmer's Day)
In this municipality farmer's day is celebrated in honor of their work. A mass is first held at the Nuestra Señora del Carmen church, followed by contests for the largest arepa, plantain, and cassava, and a musical performance.
