
La Unión: A municipality in the department of Valle del Cauca, classified as “Colombia’s Wine-Growing Capital.” Unlike other towns in the department, it has a wide variety of grape-growing agriculture, along with a broad range of tropical fruit crops such as passion fruit, blackberry, grapes, tomatoes, and melons, among others. It is located on the western bank of the Cauca River, between the Western Cordillera and the Central Cordillera, in the northern region of the department, 163 km from the city of Cali.
Thanks to its wide agricultural variety and growth in the wine industry, the town has experienced solid urban growth, becoming a key hub in northern Valle del Cauca. Its wine and unprocessed grape trade are among its main economic activities. It also has significant activity in clothing stores, grocery stores, building materials, appliances, and technology, as well as an environment where a variety of extreme sports are practiced.
